VR-Tech Synthetic Winch Rope
The benefits of VR-Tech Synthetic Winch Rope far outweigh those of steel wire cable.
Features:
- Much lighter than wire cable - a quarter of the weight of wire cable resulting in reduced weight on the front suspension.
- Much higher tensile strength than wire cable of the same diameter.
- Far safer than wire cable - greatly reduced "whipping" effect if broken, no frayed wire to cut hands and rip clothing.
- Much easier to handle - light, supple, pliable and it floats.
- Will not rust or kink like wire cable.
- Will not conduct electricity like wire cable (important for emergency services)
- Good abrasive resistance - Supplied with 2 metre protection sleeve which rolls on and off the drum with the rope.
- Good chemical resistance.
- Very good UV resistance.
- Exceptional heat resistance - 480C melting point, well suited to popular low mount winches. (that's over 150C more than most other synthetic ropes!) If your winch is getting anywhere near this hot you need to reconsider your winching technique!
- Will not absorb water, and will stay flexible in freezing conditions.
- Suitable for, and proven in competition.
- Easy to repair in the field, unlike wire rope.
- Suitable for high and low mount winches.
- Synthetic rope does not need to be spooled back onto the winch drum as uniformly as wire cable. This is a welcome benefit to those whose winch drums are difficult to view.
